Urinary incontinence may be caused by an underdeveloped urinary system or may arise as a part of the aging process. Estrogen deficiency is the most common cause of incontinence in spayed female dogs and may result in weakened muscles in the bladder and sphincter causing urine leakage. Bovine ovary powder nutritionally provides natural estrogens and works synergistically with the phytoestrogens provided by licorice, wild yam and other ingredients. Research indicates that phyto-estrogens may help strengthen the bladder and sphincter muscles and improve muscle tone. Additional Information More Info

Our dog was adopted from a local animal shelter so we don't know her true age other than she is a mature dog, and we know little of her history except that she has been spayed. Her problem is "leaking" when she lays down whether awake or sleeping. We tried these tablets for about two months with just slight improvement, not enough to warrant continuing any longer. We also had to wrap the tablets in something tasty in order to get her to take them, but she has a tendency to be picky with her food also, so that may not be true for other dogs. We will look for another similar product and give that a try.

No More Bed Wetting

When I adopted my dog at 12 weeks, she had already been spayed, leaving her with what I affectionately refer to as a bed wetting problem. She's been on this product for a year and a half now and her bed wetting days are over! She is just under 50 lbs, so she gets one tablet in the morning and another before bed. Because she loves the taste of the tablets so much, I use it as a treat after morning and night-time walks. The first time I purchased this product was at the vet office and they charged me $60 for one bottle, so I'm relieved that I found the same product at such a competitive price online.

Canine Incontinence Support

My dog had a urinary infection when I adopted her last November. Once that was cleared up, she remained incontinent (she releases her bladder when in a deep sleep). I started her on PPA - and that worked well, but made her a little tired. Anytime I stopped giving it to her, she imediately became incontinent again. I saw this product and decided to try it. She is 70 lbs, but I only gave her one tablet in the morning and one at night (the recommended amount for her weight is 2 in the morning and at night). For 3 weeks, I gave her the PPA and the Canine Incontinence Support together. Then I removed her from the PPA. She has gone 2 months without incident, although, I've been told, I may need to suppliment with PPA occasionally or increase the dose eventually. In addition to it working for my dog, she is a picky eater and she takes it well.
